Ice Vegas 2018: Helen & Tony’s Story

Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada continued its support of athletics events benefiting cancer awareness and research with a sponsorship of the 2018 Ice Vegas Invitational hockey tournament. The tournament, featuring some of the best collegiate hockey teams in the nation, including 5-time National Champion Boston College, ran December 5-6 at T-Mobile Arena. Arizona State won the tournament, with a finals win over Michigan Tech.

The practice is proud that our patient, Helen O’Hanlan, was on hand to share a video of her journey as a seven-time cancer survivor, while also dropping the official puck to kickoff Friday and Saturday night’s games. Helen, a UNLV graduate, moved back to Las Vegas from Chicago last year, due in large part to her ability to seamlessly continue her highly-specialized care locally with CCCN’s Rupesh J. Parikh, M.D. and the team at Comprehensive. Helen also counts on support from her husband Tony (and the couple’s two dogs), and you can see their story in this video:
