Barbara Caldwell, MSN, APRN

Barbara Caldwell, MSN, APRN, graduated from Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Masters of Science in Nursing. At Case Western University, Caldwell also completed Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) training and a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner course in women’s health. In 2012, she completed her coursework in genetic risk counseling at City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center in Duarte, Calif.

Barbara is a nurse practitioner and cancer genetic counselor at Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada. Working with the multi-specialty practice, Barbara will focus specifically on cancer genetic counseling to deliver the most current medical knowledge and treatment options for patients with genetic cancers.

Prior to joining the practice, she was director of chemotherapy at Women’s Cancer Center of Nevada in Las Vegas. Locally, she was also managing partner/owner of Genomicare and a nurse practitioner at Nevada Surgery and Cancer Care.

With more than 40 years of experience in medicine, Barbara has also served as a nurse practitioner for a number of Ohio-based organizations, including the Cleveland Clinic Foundation; Comprehensive Medical Services in Beachwood; Cleveland State University; St. Luke’s Hospital in Cleveland; Family Planning Association of Northeast Ohio; Women’s Healthcare Inc. in Broadview Heights; and University Hospitals (Cleveland). She has also been a sexual assault nurse examiner at CCF Huron Road Hospital in Cleveland and UHHS Bedford Hospital in Bedford Heights.

In the classroom, Barbara was an adjunct clinical professor in maternity nursing at Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio; a lead instructor in maternal child nursing and pharmacology at Case Western Reserve University; and an adjunct nursing faculty member at Cleveland State University.

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse

Barbara is married with four children and two grandchildren. She enjoys gardening, reading, traveling and thrift store shopping. She also enjoys taking body flow and body pump classes to remain active and healthy.
