ORION Lends a Hand to Other Nonprofit Organizations

ORION grants are available to other nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations in Southern Nevada to further their efforts in assisting cancer patients and their families.  A nonprofit organization may be awarded up to $3,000 per year to assist cancer patients and their families who are not being adequately served by existing resources.

Nonprofit Organization Eligibility Requirements

Assistance is available for nonprofit organizations that are:

Tax exempt under section 501c(3) of the IRS tax code;
Based in and serving communities in Southern Nevada to assist cancer patients and their families;
Able to leverage additional support and collaboration to maximize services for cancer patients.

Ineligible Nonprofit Categories

Organizations that deny services to a patient on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, ancestry, age, medical condition, disability, veteran status, marital status, sexual orientation or any other characteristic protected by law;
Money raising campaigns, annual fundraisers, memorial campaigns, events, memberships or sponsorships;
Individuals, including those seeking scholarships or fellowship assistance;
Political, labor or fraternal organizations or civic clubs and religious organizations for sectarian purposes;
Government agencies.
