Nuclear medicine combines the use of computers and radioactive substances to image the body and treat disease, looking at both the physiology, or functioning, and anatomy of the body in establishing diagnosis and treatment. Positron emission tomography (PET), cardiovascular imaging, and bone scanning are all examples of nuclear medicine techniques. |
