Raul T. Meoz, M.D., FACR

EDUCATION
Dr. Meoz received his Medical Degree from the University of Zulia, Venezuela in 1971 and completed a full three-year residency in therapeutic radiology at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas from 1973 through 1976. He was board certified in therapeutic radiology in 1976. He went on to M.D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute as project investigator for two years in 1977 and 1978. Dr. Meoz received the American Cancer Society Research Fellowship Award while a resident at Baylor College of Medicine in 1974.

EXPERIENCE
Dr. Meoz joined Nevada Radiation Oncology Centers in 1985. The group is now named Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada. Prior to that Dr. Meoz was Assistant Radiotherapist and Assistant Professor of Radiotherapy at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute from 1980 through 1983. He was in private practice in radiation oncology from September 1983 through August 1985 in Dallas, Texas; and Clinical Assistant Professor of Radiology with the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Dallas, Texas for the same period of time.

Dr. Meoz has authored and co-authored numerous scientific papers and has been a speaker in several national and international conferences in the field of oncology and radiation therapy.

In 2001, Dr. Meoz was awarded fellowship with the American College of Radiology.

Born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, Dr. Meoz and his wife, Wendy, have two children, Benjamin and Katherine.
